YOUR BABY'S TEETH - Starting Early Starts Good Habits

Michelle SAYS!

brampton dental office, brampton dentist, brampton family dentist, dental information, dentist brampton, dentist in brampton, baby's first dental visit,Brushing should be started as soon as your baby gets their first tooth. Starting early gets your baby used to the daily routine and brushing at least twice daily. Introducing good dental routines at an early age will set your child set up for life.
Here are some things to keep in mind:
1 - Be Sure to use a small, child sized toothbrush with soft bristles.
2 - Do not use fluoridated toothpaste on children under the age of 2 years or until your child knows how to spit well and will not swallow it. This is because if young children swallow toothpaste enriched with fluoride it could lead to tooth discolouration in the permanent teeth.
3 - Spend 2 minutes brushing your child's teeth, making sure to reach all areas of the mouth. Two minute timers are available at our office, drop by and ask for one.
4 - Replace the toothbrush every 3 to 4 months, or sooner if the bristles show signs of wear.
5 - Never share you child's toothbrush with others.
6 - Start flossing your child's teeth daily as soon as 2 teeth touch or the child lets u lol.
7- Be sure to bring your child along to the dentist from an early age to get them used to it.
